St. Louis DSA is considering another round of candidate endorsements for 2026 and 2027!

First, running for the open nomination in Missouri's 81st House District is Jimmy Lappe. The primary for this race is August 4, 2026 and the general election is November 3, 2026. The current incumbent (Steve Butz) is term limited so can not run for reelection, but there are (currently) three other candidates that have announced for this race.

Second, running for reelection as President of the Board of Aldermen for the City of St. Louis is Megan-Ellyia Green. The primary for this race will be on March 2, 2027 and the general election on April 5, 2027. This race is not districted ("at large") so all registered voters in the city of St. Louis are eligible to vote on this race. As with all municipal elections in the city of St. Louis, it will follow the "approval voting" procedures for the primary, and the general election will be a head to head between the top-two finishers of that race.

We will be sharing candidate statements and responses to our questionnaire beforehand, but this forum will also be an opportunity for you to hear from the candidates and ask them questions about issues, orientation, and strategy! Please RSVP and register at the Zoom link provided—note that since this forum centers around our organization's internal endorsement procedures, attendance will be restricted to DSA Members in Good Standing only!
